Job summary
As a Head of Maintenance at a Barchester care home, you'll make sure the care home has a clean and well-maintained environment so that residents feel at home and staff can do their jobs well. You'll be responsible for a variety of maintenance tasks, from fixing leaky taps to gardening, and will also manage a team and liaise with contractors.
Main duties of the job
In this role, you'll be responsible for ensuring the care home building, gardens, and grounds are well-maintained. You'll undertake a range of maintenance tasks, from plumbing and electrical work to gardening and decorating. You'll also manage a team of maintenance staff and liaise with external contractors when necessary. Providing a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for residents is your top priority.

ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Head of Maintenance at a Barchester care home, you'll ensure a clean and well-maintained environment for residents and staff. You can expect plenty of variety, from fixing a leaky tap to planting new bulbs. You should be comfortable working alone, leading a team, and supporting the General Manager with annual budget planning. You'll also liaise with contractors on jobs outside your team's expertise.
ABOUT YOU
The wellbeing of our residents will be your number one priority. With hands-on experience in property maintenance, you'll have at least one trade skill and ideally a proven ability to undertake a wide range of maintenance tasks. You should be reliable and flexible with your working hours. This role requires a full UK driving licence, IT literacy, and GCSEs in Maths and English (or equivalent).
