Responsibilities:
1. Take full responsibility of the site during the shift in terms of management of staff, production (Intake – Dispatch), quality targets, security, housekeeping, and hygiene.
2. Ensure quality & food safety of the products produced within the shift in line with the company’s quality systems, processes, and procedures.
3. Manage, develop, and motivate direct reporting staff through coaching/scheduled 1-2-1 meetings with SMART objectives.
4. Monitor, measure, and report on production-related process performance and downtime, taking ownership for downtime root cause analysis.
5. Ensure good communication is given either verbally or in writing to all members of staff.
6. Ensure that Health and Safety rules and regulations are adhered to during the shift and all related matters are dealt with.
7. Utilize problem-solving and troubleshooting skills to ensure that all team members can identify root causes and take fast, effective action to resolve problems.
8. Work closely with other Shift Supervisors to ensure effective communication during production handovers.
9. Ensure that training skills are met for current and future demands of the shifts and that career progression is mapped out for all employees.
10. Actively participate in the company’s continuous improvement plan to achieve plans for future growth within the company.
11. Continuously maintain housekeeping standards to ensure a clean and safe workplace while managing staff in daily/weekly cleaning regimes.
12. Ensure that all employees take responsibility for using company resources effectively to ensure best operating costs.
13. Make appropriate decisions while following the company’s organizational structure.
14. Complete daily/weekly audits and follow through on actions.
15. Maintain a high level of timekeeping and attendance.
You:

3. Empathic communication skills are essential; able to communicate and motivate coherently – both verbally and in written media.
4. Understanding of manufacturing principles and strong management skills, with experience in root cause analysis, continuous improvement, and improvement tools needed to complete projects and process improvements.
5. Minimum 3 years working in a high mass volume manufacturing environment as a Shift Supervisor or in an equivalent capacity, ideally from a food manufacturing background.
6. Able to work extended hours on occasions when required.
Other:
Monday – Friday shift pattern working a two-week rota (6am – 2pm, 2pm – 10pm).
