Job description
Beacon Surgery in the beautiful East Sussex countryside is looking to recruit a Medical Receptionist/Administrator due to expansion in the team in our busy GP Practice. Applicants must be enthusiastic, friendly and able to work in a fast-paced environment where you can make a difference to people’s lives every day.
The role includes being the first point of contact for our patients, answering patient calls and enquiries, booking appointments and liaising with doctors and nurses. There are also daily administrative tasks which include dealing with prescriptions, photocopying and electronic filing.
As the first point of contact for patients, it is essential that you have excellent communication skills, a caring nature, and a warm and friendly manner. You will need to be highly organised, able to work under pressure, and flexible to help provide staff holiday cover.
Previous experience of working in primary care and some knowledge of the EMIS clinical appointment and records system would be an advantage, but is not essential as full training will be provided.
An excellence in patient experience is pivotal to the role, so we are looking for people prepared to go that extra mile and add value to our team. This can be a challenging job, but it is definitely rewarding.
Appointment of the successful candidate is subject to a satisfactory DBS check and references.
The position is for 16 hours per week (with monthly overtime available):
* Monday 1pm-6pm
* Wednesday 1pm-6.30pm
* Friday 1pm-6.30pm
If you would like to arrange any information or for a discussion regarding the position, please contact Beth Brown, Operations Manager.
