If so, wed love to hear from you We are currently recruiting for Residential Childcare Practitioners and Senior Childcare Practitioners to join an established and respected social care provider as they open a new home in the St Helens area. This role will involve supporting children aged 8 to 17 who are experiencing Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD), helping them to thrive in a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment. Key Responsibilities: Provide high-quality care and support for children aged 8-17 years with emotional and behavioural challenges. Promote positive behaviour and emotional development in a structured residential setting. Build trusted relationships with young people, acting as a positive role model. Work alongside a dedicated team to deliver a comprehensive care plan. Engage in keyworker responsibilities, including regular assessments and reports on progress. Assist with personal care where necessary. Work flexibly, including long shifts, weekends, and occasional sleep-in shifts to meet the needs of the children. What We Are Looking For: Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable, particularly those with challenging behaviours, though transferable skills are also welcome. A genuine passion for working with vulnerable children and supporting their development. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Flexibility to work long shifts, weekends, and sleep-ins (when required). A Level 3 qualification in Residential Childrens Care or a willingness to work towards it (for senior/team leader roles the Level 3 Qualification is a must).
