Learning Manager/Non-Teaching Head of Year - Temporary
V-Recruit are excited to be working in partnership with one of the UK's most forward-thinking, recognized, and respected Multi-Academy Trusts to recruit a Learning Manager/Pastoral Head of Year for a position at a secondary school in Worksop, Nottinghamshire, starting in January 2025.
This is a temporary vacancy, initially for 4-6 weeks, although this could be extended.
Working Hours: 37 hours per week, 40 weeks per year (term time plus 10 days)
Pay: £14p/h plus Holiday Pay. The permanent salary for this vacancy is £24,716.27 - £25,575.91 Actual Salary, with annual increments plus inflation-linked increases.
Working hours are Monday to Thursday, 8 am - 4 pm, and 8 am - 3.30 pm on Fridays. Free onsite parking is available.
V-Recruit is seeking experienced and outstanding applicants for a key pastoral and student-facing role within a secondary school environment. This is an extremely rewarding, though at times challenging role, so we are seeking an individual with passion, integrity, and energy.
You will:
1. Support learning through the use of data, strategic intervention, and monitoring to maximize student attainment.
2. Monitor all students within your specific year group, both academically and with behavioral issues.
3. Work closely with the inclusion team and the Vice Principal on intervention strategies, targeting students for intervention.
4. Utilize the MIS system to track and intervene with serial internal truants or students that are constantly late for lessons.
5. Attend case conferences and other meetings regarding students in your year group, preparing referrals and reports for those identified as needing intervention.
Other duties may include:
1. Supervising breakfast, break, and lunchtimes.
2. Supervising students prior to formal examinations.
3. Recording safeguarding incidents, including producing reports on students for multi-agency meetings.
4. Being the first point of contact for behavior-related incidents and liaising with SLT regarding suitable outcomes.
5. Attending safeguarding case conferences on behalf of the academy and providing feedback to the delegated person where necessary.
6. Supporting the Education Welfare Officer in undertaking truancy sweeps and collecting students from home to attend the academy.
The chosen candidate will be personable, confident, and professional, taking pride in all aspects of their work. We are looking to recruit someone with energy and enthusiasm who will work as an integral part of a busy and hardworking team. Excellent personal skills are essential as you will be part of the wider school staff-body, ensuring the safeguarding and quality experience of all 1200 students.
Minimum Requirements:
The chosen candidate must have previous experience in working within an educational environment and knowledge of issues affecting students and young people. Experience working with other agencies that support students with specific vulnerabilities is also necessary. Ideally, you will have experience of the Common Assessment Framework and its use to support families and students.
