The Vacancy
We have an opportunity for a Resident Liaison Officer to join our Wates team within our Planned Maintenance division. You will be covering the Reigate, Leatherhead & Guildford area working on a brand new contract with one of our social housing providers, so will need to be local to the above.
This isn't your typical RLO role as 90% of the time you will be dealing with residents who are classed as vulnerable. Ideally, we are looking for candidates who have experience from sectors such as care, mental health, health care, schools, etc. This is a real opportunity to make a difference.
Key Accountabilities will include:
1. Acting as the main point of contact for residents, prioritising their needs and addressing concerns throughout the site works.
2. The role focuses on fostering a safe, secure, and positive living environment while working closely with site staff to minimise disruptions.
3. Clear, proactive communication and meticulous planning will ensure scheduled access to residents' homes, building trust and delivering a seamless, customer-centric experience during the works.
4. Set up, undertake and manage the Tenant/Customer/Resident Liaison Service across multiple sites.
5. Attend regular client representative and tenant meetings to ensure the highest level of customer service is provided at all times.
6. Manage the Tenant's Complaints procedures as a point of escalation.
7. Maintain and update the on-site Database to reflect ongoing works.
8. Organise and host regular surgeries to address residents' queries, concerns, and feedback.
9. Maintain a structured complaints procedure and handle disputes and damage claims promptly and fairly.
Ideally, you will be an experienced RLO with a proven track record of successfully managing the workload across planned maintenance programmes. However, given the nature of the role and the residents you will be dealing with, we are particularly looking for people who are passionate about customer satisfaction as a priority. This could be from working as a Key Worker, Social Worker, Mental Health Worker, Carer, Teaching, etc. We can train the RLO role, but the right attitude and experience in the above is key.
Given the nature of this position, you will need to undergo an Enhanced and Barred Lists Disclosure and Barring Service Check (DBS) at offer stage. Applicants with criminal convictions will be assessed individually, and we assure you that we do not discriminate based on an applicant's criminal record or the details of any disclosed offenses. Additionally, certain roles may be subject to additional pre-employment checks.
