The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust's Pathology Centre are looking for a dynamic, caring and enthusiastic leader to join our Cellular Pathology Team.
The successful applicant will be working closely with other members of the Pathology leadership team, across our two hospital sites, to deliver a quality, patient-focused service. CellPath is a vibrant team, continually looking for ways to develop innovative ideas and ways of working, ensuring our services continue to match the rapid pace of growth in diagnostic advances.
The applicant will be a Registered Scientist with the HCPC, with highly developed specialist knowledge underpinned by theory and experience.

The post holder may participate in the Trust's On Call Manager rota.
Main duties of the job
1. Provide and receive complex information, requiring persuasive and motivational skills.
2. Communicate staff-related issues, test results, and other technical information to colleagues, patients, and relatives.
3. Possess highly developed specialist knowledge underpinned by theoretical knowledge & practical experience.
4. Understand specialist healthcare science activities, with management knowledge acquired through training to master's degree or equivalent level.
5. Analyze complex facts or situations, requiring interpretation and comparison of options.
6. Plan complex activities, requiring formulation and adjustment of plans.
7. Manage workload for the area of work, including adjustments for emergencies and long-term planning for own department.

* BSc (Hons) in Biomedical Sciences, or equivalent.
* Evidence of professional management development.
* Current HCPC Registration (Scientist).
* Professional knowledge acquired through degree, post-graduate study, and significant experience in specialist field to master's level or equivalent.
