About The School:
I am working with a lovely SEN school in Portsmouth, who are dedicated to providing a supportive and inclusive learning environment for children with a wide range of Special Educational Needs. The school fosters an ethos of care, respect, and positive reinforcement, empowering each child to grow academically, socially, and emotionally.
The Role:
1. Plan, deliver, and assess engaging lessons tailored to the individual needs of children with SEN, including those with autism, learning disabilities, and other complex needs.
2. Develop and implement effective strategies to support children's learning, communication, and social development.
3. Work closely with a team of dedicated Teaching Assistants, SENCOs, and other professionals to create an individualized learning journey for each child.
4. Foster a safe, positive, and inclusive classroom atmosphere that promotes independence and builds self-esteem.
5. Collaborate with parents and carers to ensure consistent support both in and out of school.
Requirements:
1. A fully qualified teacher with QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent.
2. A strong understanding of SEN, including experience working with children who have a variety of needs.
3. A compassionate, patient, and adaptable approach to teaching.
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
5. Ability to develop individualised learning plans and track progress.
6. A commitment to creating a nurturing and inclusive environment for all students.
