Our HGV Training Programme will cover: Health & Safety, Hybrid and EV vehicles, with HGV servicing and repairs, MOT preparation to DVSA test standards. Once you’ve successfully completed your HGV training, you will gain an IRTEC L2 Certification (Heavy Vehicle Service Maintenance Technician) and a full time, permanent position with Fife Council with eligibility for training to qualify for an HGV driving licence and an MOT testers qualification, you will then be able to work safely and unsupervised helping Fife Council hit our pre-set vehicle standards and guidelines. Constant training and learning opportunities will be provided as you grow your career within our Fleet Service Centres. Based at the Cupar Service Centre, the successful candidate will be required to inspect, maintain, and repair the Council’s fleet of assets working within a team setting carrying out assigned work to a high standard and good practice that will contribute to an effective service delivery. Work must be carried out in a manner that positively contributes to a high quality, responsive and cost-effective service which meets service and customer expectations. The normal working week is. Monday to Thursday 07.30 to 16.00 Friday 07.30 to 11.30 or 10.30 to 14.30. The pay grade is FS1 (£34,295.40) Standby is covered on a rotational basis. City & Guilds Certificates in required trade and/or equivalent SVQ level 3 attainments. Extensive experience in maintaining and repairing vehicles.
