Your role in themission:
TypeOne Energy are looking for an experienced all round CNC Machinistfor our Boston MA center of excellence. You will play a pivotalrole in safely and reliably developing the manufacturing capabilityof our high temperature superconducting (HTS) magnetprogram.
You will work closely with EngineersPhysicists and Senior Leadership Team to develop and performmanufacturing processes and procedures.
You willoperate and maintain the CNC machinery and other the systemsrequired to build and test HTS magnet systems. This will includecryogenics CNC machines machine tools soldering and braising vacuumwelding and other specialized equipment. This position requiresstrong human performance skills attention to detail and safety asthe toppriority.
* Helpdevelop and implement a manufacturing strategy for our magnetactivities aligning with the organizations goals andobjectives.
* Set up and operate a 5axis CNCmachine to perform tasks such as drilling grinding millingetc.
* Work closely with our ManufacturingSupervisor and a team of Engineers ensuring a positive andproductive work environment.
* Provide guidanceon technical and safety issues and offer training to improve teammembers skills.
* Perform routine maintenance onmachines to ensure optimal performance andlongevity.
* Monitor machine operations to ensurethat products meet specifications and to detect any machinemalfunctions or defects
* Collaborate withcrossfunctional teams to understand develop and fulfilrequirements.
* Monitor and address any safety orquality issues.
* Maintain accurate records ofactivities such as travellers.
* Read andinterpret assembly drawings wiring diagrams and detailed workinstructions
Whatyoullneed:
* Provenexperience in manufacturing with a focus on safety quality andreliability.
* Proven experience as a CNCMachinist or similar role
* Minimum 3 years ofexperience in manufacturing
* Strongunderstanding of CNC machines (5 axis preferred) machine tools highenergy systems etc. Ability to run a CNC machineunsupervised.
* Experience in participating in orconducting safety reviews andinvestigations.
* Experience writing andreviewing manufacturing checklists and procedures.
* Strong attention to detail and organizationalskills.
* Knowledge of regulatory compliancerelated to manufacturing activities including Occupational Safetyand Health standards.
* Ability to occasionallylift up to 50 lbs
* Perform activities such asstooping typing standing or sitting for extended periods oftime
Theideal candidate will have:
* Associatedegree or higher in engineering technology (preferred) a relatedfield or equivalent experience.
* Familiaritywith quality assurance and quality control processes. Hands onexperience with HTS or cryogenic systems
* CNC/CAM Codingexperience.
* Familiarity with metrology systemssuch as laser scanning equipment gauges and hand measurementtools
