About the role:
We’re looking for a Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant with expertise in Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs to join our supportive and inclusive school in Newham. As an SEN TA, you will work closely with class teachers and the SENCO to support students with SEMH needs across Key Stage 1 and 2. This is a fantastic opportunity to build meaningful relationships with students, provide tailored interventions, and help them navigate challenges to reach their full potential.
Application Requirements:
• Experience working with SEMH needs or other SEN provisions.
• A calm and patient demeanor with excellent interpersonal skills.
• A commitment to safeguarding and a proactive approach to supporting vulnerable learners.
• Previous experience in a classroom or similar educational setting (preferred).
• Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to apply).
Key Responsibilities:
• Supporting students with SEMH needs in the classroom and during break times.
• Delivering targeted interventions and emotional support tailored to individual needs.
• Collaborating with teachers and external professionals to implement effective learning plans.
• Promoting a positive and inclusive atmosphere within the school.
• Monitoring and reporting on students’ progress and well-being.
