An exciting opportunity has arisen for a nurturing, well organised leader with a professional teaching background to manage the Banks Peninsula Early Learning Centre (BPEL).
Based on Banks Peninsula, (Te Pātaka o Rākaihautū), our purpose-built centre is well resourced to support child-led learning. Our rural environment and natural resources provide rich learning opportunities.
The BPEL centre manager takes accountability for ensuring the centre is financially sustainable, serving the community’s needs, supporting our talented teaching team and ensuring relationships with whānau and community are strong.
We seek the following qualities:
* An experienced ECE leader with a growth mindset, understanding of Te Whāriki and experience in team leadership as a manager or Head Teacher.
* Superb time management.
* Relationships focused, an excellent communicator.
* Strong financial experience, able to create effective rosters.
* Discover and Xero experience an advantage.
Key responsibilities:
* Foster a cohesive team culture, and a positive learning environment.
* Develop, in conjunction with kaiako, a high-quality educational programme.
* Maintain constructive relationships with children, whānau and Governing Committee.
* Construct and manage the budget, allocating resources to sustain operations and services for our community.
* Maintain a safe site, compliant with regulations.
* Honour our commitment to Te Tiriti O Waitangi.
* Establish a professional network to support your management and teaching roles.
