Local Government & Social Care Ombudsman (LGSCO) Hybrid working allocated to offices in Coventry or York For over 50 years we have been the voice of the public. Our free and impartial service helps people put things right with their local council or adult social care provider. We use what we learn from complaints to improve local public services and independent adult social care provision. We act with impartiality and make fair decisions after listening to both sides of the story and weighing up all the evidence. So, if you want to make a difference and have the perspective were looking for, please get in touch. The Role As a Team Co-ordinator you will play a vital role in ensuring our organisation runs efficiently and effectively. This is not just an administrative role; you will also be closely involved in our casework, supporting us to meet organisational objectives. You will provide administrative and organisational support to a team of Investigators and assist in co-ordinating corporate activity. Your role will be varied and includes regular contact with internal and external stakeholders. You will also have the opportunity to be involved in our casework. This will involve making decisions on whether organisations we investigate have had an opportunity to respond to complaints. You will also play a vital role in ensuring that organisations deliver on the recommendations we make, ensuring that the people who use our service receive remedies for injustice, and that lessons are learned to improve the way services are run. You will report to the manager of an investigation team, either an Assessment Manager or Assistant Ombudsman. And while you will mainly support the one team, you will also work with a group of Team Co-ordinators to completed shared tasks or to cover leave. Location We offer hybrid working. Individuals will be allocated to either our Coventry or York office and will be expected to attend the office as and when required for in person tasks such as managing post, team meetings, training and other occasions. At present, we anticipate this will be a minimum of one day a month. We particularly encourage applications from people from minority ethnic backgrounds who are currently under-represented within our organisation.
