This is a full-time on-site role to produce electronic and electrical designs for ABP products along with appropriate manufacturing data.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
1. Responsible for taking functional requirements for hardware, studying potential solutions and producing the most efficient design to reliably meet the needs of the project.
2. Understand the full system architecture to ensure all interactions with other hardware and software are fully considered.
3. Conduct necessary calculations and/or simulations to prove design functionality prior to prototype build.
4. Use appropriate CAD software to produce schematics and PCB layouts.
5. Work closely with the Software Engineers throughout the project where firmware or software integration is required.
6. Write hardware specifications detailing functionality and interfaces.
7. Produce appropriate manufacturing data to enable efficient production of the design.
8. Prepare test documentation for both validation and functional testing.
9. Take part and present where required at design reviews and progress meetings.
10. Document the design process followed throughout from concept to production.
11. Stay informed on latest technologies relevant to the company’s products.
12. Provide support to legacy Electronic/Electrical products and establish solutions for obsolescence.
13. Ensure the company's Quality Management System is followed in all matters relating to Electronics and Electrical Engineering.
14. Ensure the programme of work is aligned with the project plan and to monitor and track progress.
15. Working on customer premises (UK and overseas) from time to time.
16. Accurate completion of documentation.
Qualifications and Skills
1. Ability to generate concepts and detailed designs.
2. Degree or equivalent qualification in relevant Electronics/Electrical subject.
3. Experience in Engineering design, preferably gained in a similar demanding industry.
4. Ability to combine existing knowledge with new impacts for positive changes combined with good communication skills.
