Manchester Islamic Grammar School for Girls is an independent all girls 11 – 16 secondary school located in the Fielden Campus, West Didsbury, Manchester, M20 2PQ. We are a relatively small school of approximately 270 students, and alongside our partner schools, KD Grammar School for Boys and Manchester Muslim Preparatory School, form part of the highly successful Manchester Islamic Educational Trust, founded in 1991. We have been rated outstanding at our last three Ofsted inspections.
Our mission is to prepare, engage and enthuse our students by helping them to identify their talents and build on their strengths. We have a fully enriched SMSC programme where students can demonstrate their skills beyond the classroom to become responsible adults, making valuable contributions to their own and the wider community. Food Technology is taught in small groups of students who are respectful, responsive and eager to learn. We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, committed and highly motivated teacher with the ability to deliver a high-quality education that inspires amongst students a love of learning and a determination to achieve their very highest potential.
You will have:
* A degree level qualification or higher education qualification in Food Technology or related field of Nutrition or Home Economics
* A recognised teaching qualification e.g. PGCE with QTS
* Preferably experience teaching in UK schools
* The right to work in the UK
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* A commitment to supporting the ethos of the school in all respects
Responsibilities:
* Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons to students
* Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment
* Collaborate with colleagues to develop curriculum and instructional materials
* Communicate with parents/guardians regarding student progress and behaviour
* Assess student progress through practical assessments, written assignments, and project work, providing constructive feedback
* Ensure the safe and hygienic use of kitchen equipment and ingredients, teaching students about food safety regulations and best practices
* Stay up to date with the current curriculum and have experience of teaching Food Technology for KS3 & KS4
