Job Description Electrical & Instrument Project Engineer Location: South Wales, SA4 Job Type: Immediate permanent position Salary: Competitive Salary Job Description The E&I Project Engineer will be responsible for taking control of multiple projects from estimation, client order, planning through to completion. The successful applicant will be responsible for: • Interpretation of customer design requirements from drawings, specifications, data sheets, etc • Estimation of projects ensuring they meet their specifications, budgets and timescales whilst maintaining a high quality and safety performance. • Liaising and communicating with clients & subcontractors. Visiting their sites for surveys and meetings. • Producing quality control documents, project schedules and monitoring project progress. • Preparation of material requisitions and organisation of subcontractor services. • Writing, review and communication of Risk Assessments, Method Statements & Safe Working Procedures • Preparation of construction site prior to the commencement of work • Assist in the allocation of labour & subcontractors • Completion of Safety Audits, Inspections and reports • Punctuality & conscientiousness • Manage project costs to ensure profit is maximised • Provide technical and engineering support • IT skills including MS Excel, Word, Outlook & design software (if necessary) This is a key role within the business and as such we need a strong communicator who is able to liaise with a variety of clients. Experience of working on a COMAH site, knowledge of electrical testing and working in explosive atmospheres would be preferable. Skills • Have proven experience of project engineering in a variation of process engineering sectors, preferably COMAH sites within the chemical industry. • A strong team leader with the initiative and drive to make a significant contribution to the organisation. • The capacity to meet project deadlines. • The employee will need to be flexible as there may be overtime and other duties not mentioned in this job description. • Must possess a strong commitment to Health & Safety, Quality & Environmental and attend meetings when required. • Communication skills. Qualifications A recognised apprenticeship or training scheme AND / OR City & Guilds Part 1 & 2 Electricians Certificate, AM2 (or equivalent) or ONC or NVQ3 with relevant experience AND / OR HNC or HND qualification AND / OR Degree qualification in Electrical Engineering Desirable Qualifications • 18th Edition IEE Regulations Cert • CCNSG Card • Compex 01-04 gases and vapour qualification • IOSH or NEBOSH qualification • C&G 2391 Electrical Inspection & Testing • Degree qualification in Electrical Engineering •
