Role responsibilities
To provide technical advice and support on transport related matters including Business Case preparation and appraisal to our clients across a range of projects.
1. Provide transport policy advice and guidance by preparing business cases, providing documentation and appraisals with reference to WelTAG to early-stage projects up to single option section to enable Transport for Wales (TfW) to provide Welsh Government (WG) and Local Authorities expert advice.
2. Support the delivery of a range of projects concurrently by meeting project timescales, liaising with the project team and using the supply chain where required to deliver the project to quality, budget and meet client requirements.
3. Support the management of stakeholder and client engagement on projects by facilitating meetings to obtain and share information to ensure TfW project can progress collaboratively.
4. Develop TfW Transport Planning project procedures by regulatory consulting and keeping abreast with changes to legislation and working with the supply chain to ensure TfW and its delivery partners are using methods of best practice.
Who we’re looking for
5. A Masters degree in a relevant area such as Transport Planning, Urban Transport, Transport Planning & Engineering or evidence of equivalent experience working in a Transport Planning role.
6. Working towards Chartered Transport Planner. TPP, ICE, IHT, CILT or similar.
7. Demonstrable experience of delivering a range of transport planning projects and/ or business case development.
8. Experience of to communicate technical arguments to technical and non-technical audience.
9. Demonstrable experience of applying the Better Business Case Five Case Model in relation to transport projects.
Welsh Language Skills
The ability to speak/write Welsh would make a great addition to your application, but it is not essential for this role.
