Job overview
We are offering an opportunity for a motivated individual to work in the busy environment of the Urology Diagnostics and Treatment Centre, at the University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff. This Unit is open from Monday to Friday and so would appeal to someone who would prefer not to work nights or weekends.
This large department cares for patients with all types of urological conditions in an out-patient setting. Additionally, several invasive treatments are provided within the department. We provide a lot of support for our patients who are sometimes frequent attenders due to their urological conditions.
The post holder would be required to assist the qualified nurses with procedures and clinics as well as work with the medical team in order to provide an excellent service for our patients and their families.
Main duties of the job
Essential requirements of this role are:
* Previous Healthcare Experience (carer / HCSW)
* Good communication and interpersonal skills
* The ability to work well as part of a team
* Enthusiastic and motivated
* Commitment to professional development must be demonstrated
Desirable requirements for the role (but not essential) are:
* Prior experience within a Urology Department of a hospital.
* Knowledge of outpatient work would be useful but training and support will be provided.
* Trained on decontamination procedures
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
