Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer\n\nLocation: Leicester\n\nSalary: £27,000 -£42,000 DOE\n\nOur client is a growing company and due to an increase in workload they are looking for someone who will join their design team in the Leicester office. The company are a cutting tool manufacturer specializing in the design and manufacture of quality broach cutting tools for the Aerospace and Automotive sectors.\n\nThis is a fantastic opportunity for someone to join a busy environment where they can progress within the company and be an integral part of the team.\n\nJob Responsibilities\n\n· Designing and managing the projects for new automotive and aerospace systems for new and existing clients from start to finish.\n\n· Producing 2D and 3D technical drawings for each project using Auto CAD Inventor.\n\n· Continuous client communication throughout the project as you will act as a project manager as well as the Mechanical Design Engineer.\n\n· Design and manufacture of quality broach cutting tools\n\nIron out any queries with the manufacturing team and ensure a smooth manufacturing process.\n\n· Ensure that all targets are achieved within the agreed project terms and notify client of any milestones so that this will alert them to stage payments.\n\n· Optimise the commercial outcome of the projects by design and costs, this will include dealing with suppliers to get the best prices when acquiring all materials for the projects and installation teams / sub-contractors where required.\n\n· Iron out any queries with the manufacturing team and ensure a smooth manufacturing process.\n\n· Work alongside the sales teams to produce initial drawings and technical advice so they can give new and existing clients accurate proposals and quotations.\n\nJob Requirements\n\n· Has a HNC Qualification or an equivalent design or mechanical engineering qualification\n\n· Past experience in a similar role / experienced in designing automation / aerospace projects.\n\n· Confident using Auto CAD & Inventor.\n\n· Enthusiastic attitude and keenness to learn new skills.\n\n·Experience in tool design within an engineering background\n\nHours:\n\nMonday – Friday\n\nFull time – flexitime\n\nOur client has a friendly atmosphere and it’s a great chance to work within a busy environment where each project is bespoke for different manufacturing facilities.
