About the D&T Department: The Design & Technology department is a collaborative and inspiring team with a shared commitment to fostering students' creativity, innovation, and practical skills. We offer a rich and engaging curriculum that covers a wide range of D&T specialisms, including resistant materials, product design, electronics, and textiles. We have well-equipped workshops and studios with access to the latest technologies and resources. About the Role: Teach Resistant Materials across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the possibility of teaching at GCSE and A Level depending on experience and interest. Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons that cater to a variety of learning styles and abilities. Guide and support students in using a range of tools, equipment, and materials to design and create products. Encourage students to apply their knowledge of design principles, materials, and manufacturing processes to solve real-world problems. Assess student progress, set targets, and provide constructive feedback to support individual learning journeys. Contribute to the department's curriculum development and resource creation, ensuring that our Resistant Materials curriculum remains relevant and challenging. Foster a love of Design & Technology in students, encouraging them to explore their creativity, develop their practical skills, and become innovative problem-solvers. Work collaboratively with colleagues in the department and across the school to create a cohesive and supportive learning environment. Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance your teaching practice and keep abreast of the latest developments in D&T education. Ideal Candidate: Holds QTS or equivalent. Possesses excellent subject knowledge in Resistant Materials. Demonstrates a passion for teaching D&T and a commitment to student success. Has strong communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills. Is confident in building rapport with students and fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment. Has a good understanding of the National Curriculum for D&T and relevant examination specifications. Is committed to ongoing professional development and reflective practice.
