This role represents a key leadership position within the UK industry, influencing the development and implementation of data-led approaches that expand access to credit for underserved segments of the population. Through thought leadership and innovation, you will support VBGs objectives of increasing market share, growing receivables, and enhancing profitability, all while ensuring positive and responsible customer outcomes. As a Senior Credit Risk Manager, you will: Provides leadership and serves as a role model within the broader strategy function, fostering a culture of innovation and entrepreneurial thinking. Effectively influences cross-functional teams, including Technology & Change, and Data & Analytics. Leads a cross-functional team dedicated to developing and enhancing credit strategy, with a focus on lending policy and the strategic use of open banking data to support affordability assessments and responsible lending practices. Co-ordinating projects aimed at achieving an ambitious future vision to change lending for the better. Ensuring we can effectively engage with customers at different points in the lending journey. Creating innovative ways to look at the data value exchange throughout the customer onboarding process. Responsible for building, leading, and developing a high-performing team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous growth. Driving the optimisation of lending decisions through test and learn initiatives to identify champion strategies for both new and existing customers. Effectively engages and influences stakeholders at all levels across the Groupfrom peers to Senior Managementto secure alignment, drive strategic initiatives, and deliver meaningful change. Supporting business growth and portfolio profitability ensuring a balance between risk, reward and responsible lending. What Were Looking For: Expert in developing responsible lending strategies as part of a Credit Risk function, including personal loans, credit cards and vehicle finance. Expert in use of open banking data Communication, ability to articulate complex ideas to stakeholders in order to influence or persuade, through delivering key messages with impact when required Extensive experience of key activities such as development and implementation of scorecards, strategy rules and affordability assessments, coupled with an overview of a typical customer journey and touchpoints Familiar with the existing regulatory and economic landscapes, with working knowledge of CONC obligations and an overview of wider macro-economic environment and trends Degree in numerical / analytical subject preferred Offers are subject to satisfactory background checks, including credit, fraud, and employment references.
