Main duties of the job
Essential requirements:
* BSc in Medical Imaging (Diagnostic Radiography) or equivalent / HCPC accreditation
* Relevant Ultrasound Post Graduate Qualification or Experience
* Recent (within 1 year) experience of British models of care within the NHS
Overseas applicants must have an International English Language Testing System (IELTS) qualification.
The successful applicants will have excellent communication skills, high standards of care, compassion, dignity and privacy of patients, which should be at the forefront of all that you deliver. Sonographers are required to provide a seven-day service to ensure acute workload is catered for. Work at the Ripon community hospital site is also required.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
We provide ultrasound support for a range of services both elective and acute, we work alongside consultants in ‘one stop’ hospital based clinics, provide timely support to the emergency department and the same day emergency care unit. Our range of specialties covers obstetrics (with nuchal screening), gynaecology, general medicine, paediatrics and vascular examinations. Sonographers currently undertake MSK (including injections), HyCoSy, TRUS / TPUS biopsies, ascitic drain insertion and Fine-needle aspirations / biopsies of the Head and Neck.
