Community Lives Consortium is a Registered Charity and Domiciliary Care Agency that provides support for people with a learning or physical disability to live the life they choose in their own home within the communities of Swansea, Neath & Port Talbot. Do you genuinely care about the welfare of other adults? Are you looking for a rewarding job providing personalised care to promote independent living within your local community?
We are currently looking for Support Workers who enjoy caring for adults with a learning or physical disability whilst maintaining their dignity, safety and independence. This can include cooking/preparing meals; housekeeping/laundry, accompanying the people we support at social, leisure, recreational activities, hobbies and providing personal care. Every person we support is an individual and they will look to you to work in a safe and professional way.
Support Workers will be required to promote the independence of the people we support enabling them to develop new skills and friendships and encourage them to enjoy a full life within the community.
There are a variety of shifts on a rota basis which include days, evening, weekends, wakeful nights, public holidays and sleep in duties.
We offer a thorough training programme with an opportunity to gain a QCF Level 2 qualification in Health and Social Care, provided free of charge to give you all the skills required to provide an excellent customer service.
Due to the nature of this role you will be required to travel, therefore a full current driving licence is essential. If you own a vehicle and use it for any work purposes then Business Class 1 vehicle insurance is also essential. You will be required to provide evidence of these.
Holiday entitlement will be based on 29 days (pro rata) per annum rising to 33 days (pro rata) per annum after 5 completed year’s continuous service.

Who we’re looking for:
No experience is required to be a successful Support Worker as we offer a thorough training programme to give you all of the skills required to provide an excellent customer service, however you must genuinely care and empathise with people. Communication skills both verbal and written are critical to this role. You must be 18 years old or over and have an understanding of what the role entails and be able to follow instruction.
