EMBS Engineering has been exclusively retained to identify a Quality or Senior Quality Engineer to join one of our longest standing clients on a permanent basis.
Located in North Nottingham, meaning easily accessible from Sheffield, Nottingham, Derby and surrounding areas, our client is a market-leading precision engineering SME that specialises in the manufacture of safety-critical, complex components for high-profile customers within highly regulated industries.
This business has a rich heritage of supporting the UK's critical supply chain, assisting the Defence, Aerospace, Nuclear and Energy markets with critical machined and fabricated components.
On the back of a record-breaking year, our client is looking to expand their quality function and bring onboard either a Quality or Senior Quality Engineer to strengthen their capability of delivering a world-class service without compromising on Quality.

The Role
As a Senior Quality Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring our products meet the highest technical and quality standards, with a strong emphasis on compliance, documentation, and process improvement. You will lead problem-solving initiatives, enhance quality procedures, and work closely with production, engineering, and planning teams to resolve quality issues at their root cause.
Key Responsibilities:
* Oversee daily QA/QC activities to ensure product compliance.
* Lead process validation and production part approval process (PPAP) documentation.
* Implement and manage real-time problem resolution on the shop floor.
* Ensure compliance through internal, customer, and third-party audits.
* Manage non-conformance reporting (NCR), ensuring thorough root cause analysis and corrective actions.
* Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce rework and scrap.
* Support data collection and quality performance reporting for internal and customer reviews.
Person Requirements: Successful applicants MUST be able to demonstrate
* Strong background in quality engineering with experience of working in regulated precision engineering industries e.g. Aerospace, Defence, Nuclear etc.
* Proven experience in compliance, audits, and quality documentation
* Hands-on expertise in PPAP, NCRs, CAPA, and root cause analysis
* Ability to engage with production teams and drive a culture of right-first-time quality
* A problem solver with a keen eye for process optimisation and efficiency
* Internal auditing experience to AS and/or ISO standards
Knowledge of AS9100 Rev D would be advantageous
