An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Malvern, Evesham and Pershore Older Adult Community Mental Health Team based at Rowan House in Malvern as an Administrative Assistant. The team also operates out of Waterside, Evesham Community Hospital and on rare occasions there may be the need to provide cover at this base.
This is a permanent position. The core working hours are Mon-Fri 9-5, the post is 30 hours per week. As a service, we understand the importance of work-life balance and strive to find individual ways to ensure that our team members can achieve this, whilst ensuring we continue to deliver the best service to our patients.
The post will involve providing a comprehensive administrative service within the team. The role will be varied providing the successful applicant with an opportunity to gain valuable experience within the Older Adult Mental Health Services. The locality admin team consists of a Senior Medical Secretary, Medical Secretary, Team Secretary, and Administrative Assistant who support a multidisciplinary team.
You will need to have a flexible attitude, good time management, and organisational skills. You will need good IT skills. The team is busy but supportive, with a focus on staff well-being and development.

Main duties of the job
A typical day will include answering/dealing with both face-to-face and telephone enquiries in a tactful and professional manner, recording any messages efficiently, and passing them to the relevant individual in an appropriate and timely manner. Provide administrative support as required, e.g., typing, data inputting, filing, scanning. Deal with incoming and outgoing post. Undertake reception duties as and when required. Handle transport requests/arrangements, as appropriate.

Person Specification
Skills & Abilities
* Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English in both verbal and written formats
* Good level of literacy and numeracy
* Standard IT skills - these may be tested at interview
* Good organisational skills
Knowledge
* Knowledge of clerical/office procedures and administrative procedures
* Data input procedures
* Working knowledge of Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, Outlook
* Understanding of the Data Protection Act and NHS Code of Confidentiality
Qualifications
* Educated to vocational level 2 in Business Administration OR Good general education with a minimum of 2 GCSEs at grade 9-4 (A-C) with good IT skills or considerable recent NHS administrative experience and will be expected to undertake the relevant level 2 vocational qualification on appointment to the post
Experience
* Recent, relevant experience in an Administrative/Secretarial/Reception Role
* Previous, relevant experience in an NHS environment.
