Senior QS with project management capabilities
The ideal candidate must have experience in general construction and will be responsible for managing all aspects of the contractual and financial side of construction projects.
The projects are all commercial and can vary in value from £1,000 up to £4 million and vary from minor building work to refurbishment and new build projects.
Responsibilities:
* Preparation of cost estimates and quotations.
* Conducting site visits and assessments to price up work (in conjunction with the Director).
* Liaise with clients, contractors, and suppliers to ensure key project specifics are met.
* Attendance of site meetings and work collaboratively with the architect and clients' project manager.
* Preparation of tender documents and contract negotiations.
* Carry out client applications for payment and issuing of client variations.
* Assessment of contractor’s valuations and issuing of relevant notices and dealing with changes.
* Preparing cashflow forecasts and dealing with both client and sub-contract final accounts.
* Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental aspects on all projects.
* Prepare construction programmes for projects in conjunction with the director.
Requirements:
* Qualification in Quantity Surveying.
* Strong numerical and analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; experience with quantity surveying software (Bluebeam/Revu).
* A proactive and self-motivated approach, with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
* A valid UK driving licence is essential.
