About the Role
As a Production Supervisor, you will be a key part of our Manufacturing Team, responsible for optimisation of the state of the art production facility. Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager, you will work in a fast-paced environment where safety, quality, and productivity are top priorities. You will have the opportunity to use your people and general management skills to provide clear site direction to the main manufacturing operations. You will work at the forefront of the timber frame industry, including running a zero labour wall line with 8 robot cells and a one-of-a-kind automated floor cassette line.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Deliver, through your team, the production plan with pre-agreed targets from the Manufacturing or Factory Management team:
1. Output levels
2. Quality
3. Health & Safety (including employee welfare)
4. Customer satisfaction
5. Budget
2. Report timeously to the Manufacturing/Factory Management team any risk of achieving the above with suggested solutions to mitigate each risk.
3. Maintain a safety-focused culture across your department, and ensure that management systems (ISO 9001; ISO 14001 and ISO 45001) are followed.
4. Ensure appropriate training needs for each team member is identified and training is delivered.
5. Plan and monitor team performance to ensure high availability for work to deliver performance, quality; health & safety; customer requirements and productivity to agreed target.
6. Optimise utilisation of production machinery and waste management to meet productivity, health & safety, quality; customer satisfaction and financial targets.
7. Identify elements within your areas of responsibility that could be improved.
8. Ensure effective operation of areas within your responsibility from material flow through manufacturing (sawing, auto lines, manual lines, sub-assembly) of a quality product to being dispatched on time in full.
9. Ensure employee resource and working patterns are matched in terms of skills and numbers to short and long term production plan.
10. Build effective working relationships with relevant departments, within and outwith the factory to maximise delivery of output levels.
11. Provide support and cover for the Manufacturing Manager and Logistics and Materials Manager when required.
What We’re Looking For
1. Demonstrate thorough knowledge of health, safety and environmental practices within a manufacturing environment.
2. Demonstrate ability for production & resource planning and productivity within a manufacturing environment.
3. Knowledge of using ERP system.
4. Proficient in Microsoft office (particularly spreadsheets).
5. Knowledge of lean manufacturing, 5S and continuous improvement.
6. Knowledge of Quality Management Systems in manufacturing environment.
Working Hours
40 hours/week (Monday to Thursday, with flexibility for up to 46 hours during busy periods).
