Overview of role
Location: Stockport
As a Despatch Coordinator working 4 on 4 off (days & nights rotating), reporting to the Despatch Front Line Manager, you are responsible for managing and monitoring safety, performance and compliance tasks within the Despatch department, supporting the safe receipt, handling and distribution of all goods in accordance with all legal and company requirements.
The role ensures all processes are being followed (dock manager / REM / Stock rotation / Picking & Loading audits), all available product is despatched on time in full, as well as ensuring that damage is reduced to a minimum and all issues are documented and communicated.
It is imperative our coordinators lead by example and always demonstrate the Allied values and behaviours to drive to high performance. To enable this our coordinator role consists of:
1. 25% of daily activity working on tasks (computer based)
2. 75% in supervisory capacity (shop floor based)
Key Accountabilities
3. Part of the Coordinator role will be to cover the FLM position in case of absence – all coordinators will be expected to complete this function from time to time when required.
4. Input and monitor all hazard reporting with trending feedback to FLM’s in Despatch.
5. Ensure the warehouse standards are audit ready all the time (inside & outside).
6. Take a lead role in the delivery of workplace audits supporting the ‘Safety First’ message and complete daily safety conversations.
7. Take direct ownership for allocation of tasks to the operative workforce, making the best use of company WMS and labour flexibility to ensure maximum order fill.
8. Management of working time with a key focus on the reduction of overall idle time.
9. Develop Operatives to reflect the Company's Values and who possess the necessary knowledge, skills, attitudes and qualifications to perform.
10. Ensure that any service and stock issues arising are addressed promptly and where appropriate, escalated, as required.
The Right Person
11. Previous supervisory experience is desirable.
12. PC literate, including a working ability with Excel spreadsheets, PowerPoint and Word; capable of using Warehouse Management Systems.
13. Good numeracy and literacy skills.
14. Good Interpersonal skills and a real team player.
15. Good time keeping, organised good communication skills.
16. Conscientious and flexible in their approach to work.
