Who are we? Based in Cranfield, Bedfordshire, NTCE (Nissan Technical Centre, Europe) is our UK Research and Development hub. We are home to the functions that help us lead the way in vehicle design and development of the vehicles manufactured in our European plants. The teams at the Cranfield Nissan Technical Centre work to develop engineering and design requirements for new car models across the world. Purpose This 12 month Research & Development industrial placement, starting in August 2025, is a great chance to take theory from university and put it into practice in a fast-paced environment. Check out more information here: Placements at Cranfield - Careers at nissan Main Tasks & Responsibilities The successful candidate will have the opportunity to support our Battery design engineers working with Energy Services to deliver 4R activities [Remanufacture / Reuse / Re-purpose / recycle] for battery systems. You will learn our Nissan Engineering & Design standards, play a key role to understand all regulations & standards requirements for each 4R activity and market required. You will also be involved in developing future technologies with essential competitor benchmark and trend, research & analysis. What you will need to be successful A highly motivated and results-oriented student studying a degree in a relevant field. A keen interest in battery technology, energy systems and electric vehicles. Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel. (Advantageous): Experience with MATLAB or other data analysis tools. Sufficient evidence of your right to work in the UK will be required.
