Job summary The Head of Cardiac and Vascular Physiology Services is a new role to this group, the post holder will be an experienced physiologist who is ready to take the step into a more operational oversight of a range of physiology services whilst still retaining a small amount of clinical time ( This post is a senior management role with significant operational responsibilities as part of a senior management team along with the senior general manager, clinical leads for cardiology and vascular surgery, and senior matron for cardiology and vascular, and the chief perfusionist from cardiac surgery. This exciting opportunity will lead the development of cardiac physiology and vascular sciences. The successful candidate will ensure provision of high quality comprehensive investigations, interventional and monitoring service to patients with cardiac and vascular disorders in need of elective, urgent or emergency procedures or diagnostics and those with equipment and devices in need of long term monitoring or treatment. Main duties of the job The post holder will be responsible and accountable to the Director of Operations for Cardiology & Vascular and will directly line manage three x 8As in Cardiology, and through them the wider team of band 7,6,5,4, and 3's are line managed across both of the Trusts in the group. The vascular science team are a smaller team of band 7's across both Trusts. You would be the leader of these services and strategically and operationally accountable for the development and delivery of services.
