Salary: Circa £90,000 depending on experience What you'll be doing: Provide engineering capability development, functional management and discipline governance/ compliance/ assurance for site engineering and asset management, for a site consisting of multiple technologies and engineering disciplines Management and implementation of site engineering and asset management capability enhancement projects Management and provision of engineering toolsets consistent with technology and product development Management of the Chief Engineer/ Infrastructure and asset management offices. Ensuring that the department is staffed with individuals of appropriate skills, knowledge and experience, and that each member of the team is managed, development and utilised to maximise individual and team performance and business contribution Ensure site engineering and asset management processes and authorities are in place to deliver safe, fit for purpose site, facilities and infrastructure assets to meet customer, partner and stakeholder requirements consistent with all group, legal, regulatory and business requirements Your skills and experiences: Essential: Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience that would support a Chartered membership of professional body Previous experience of leading diverse engineering teams in a regulated environment Broad engineering background with good understanding of key legal obligations for managing large manufacturing facilities & assets Desirable: Experience in asset management/ strategy and delivery Demonstrable experience of developing asset strategies to drive improved asset performance Working in highly regulated industries such as Oil & Gas/ Rail/ Aerospace/ Nuclear Benefits: As well as a competitive pension scheme, BAE Systems also offers employee share plans, an extensive range of flexible discounted health, wellbeing and lifestyle benefits, including a green car scheme, private health plans and shopping discounts - you may also be eligible for an annual incentive. The Site Engineering & Asset Management Team: As Deputy Chief Engineer, you will lead a multi-disciplined engineering team to deliver the role of Deputy Chief Engineer across all BAES sites. You will ensure the assets within the area of responsibility are safe, legal and compliant as well as developing the strategies to ensure that the assets are managed effectively to meet current and future operational demands.
