CAD Technician
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: £30,000 - £32,000 per annum
Location: Stafford
Schedule: Monday to Friday - 8am to 4:30pm
As a CAD Technician, you will be responsible for providing design input and 3D CAD drawing services for the Projects team, working within the in-house CAD team. This role requires the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while prioritising workload effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
⦁ Work with Project Managers and Design Managers to produce drawings for specific projects based on contract specifications.
⦁ Create 3D models of bespoke items, including joinery, sheet metal parts, steel fabrications, ceramic and sanitary ware, brassware, and ironmongery.
⦁ Modify parametric library parts, including standard cubicle and panelling systems.
⦁ Assemble full room layout models and generate architectural and manufacturing drawings.
⦁ Attend client and design meetings as required (weekly or monthly, depending on the project).
⦁ Communicate with suppliers and fabricators to review products and understand assembly requirements.
⦁ Support Design Managers in reviewing products with new suppliers.
⦁ Collaborate with existing staff and undertake training as necessary.
Key Requirements
⦁ Proven experience in 3D modelling and producing design and construction drawings.
⦁ Strong 3D CAD modelling skills using Autodesk Inventor. Knowledge of parametric control/iLogic is advantageous.
⦁ Ability to read and interpret construction and manufacturing drawings.
⦁ Experience working from architectural design drawings and written briefs to create detailed design and manufacturing drawings.
⦁ Good communication skills to effectively convey and retrieve information from various sources.
⦁ Strong organisation, time management, and task prioritisation skills.
⦁ Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
⦁ Commercial awareness and ability to work within deadlines under pressure.
⦁ Knowledge of BIM, COBie, and Revit is desirable.

Experience & Skills Required
⦁ Minimum of 1 year of experience using Autodesk Inventor (required).
⦁ Previous experience in manufacturing and/or construction is preferable.
⦁ Strong numerical and IT skills.
⦁ Personable, presentable, and articulate.
