Teaching Assistant – SEN School (Effingham)
An award-winning group of Special Educational Needs (SEN) schools is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their team at their Effingham site. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a specialist environment that supports children and young people with additional needs, providing them with the tools and confidence to succeed.
The Role:
The Teaching Assistant will work closely with teachers and therapists to support students in their learning and personal development. The role involves assisting in the classroom, adapting activities to meet individual needs, and helping to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Supporting students with special educational needs in their daily activities.
* Assisting teachers in delivering tailored learning plans.
* Encouraging engagement and participation in lessons.
* Helping students develop confidence, social skills, and independence.
* Maintaining a safe, supportive, and structured environment.
Requirements:
* Previous experience working with children or young people, ideally within an SEN setting.
* A passion for supporting students with additional needs.
* Strong communication and teamwork skills.
* Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach.
* A commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare.
Additional Information:
* This role is full-time, Monday to Friday, term-time only.
* The school group is unable to provide sponsorship for this role.
