The role is for a business focused Site Reliability Engineer with solid experience in IT environments, tools, and technologies. The individual filling this role will be a business focused problem solver with a desire to learn and closely partner with highly engaged production Risk, Operations, BDRM (Business Development & Relationship Management) and IT Development teams to maintain the smooth running of CDSClear application and infrastructure. The role will implement responsibilities defined by the team lead, working or being on call during defined hours. The role will be based in London. There will be constant interaction with users based in Paris and New York. Shift work to cover US clearing hours or end of day batches will be required though the model for this is expected to evolve over time and further regional build out is expected to reduce the requirement for this over time. Key responsibilities: Level 2 IT support for the CDSClear business including hands on support of the in-house developed trade management and risk systems Key player in establishing a new operating model for supporting applications in AWS Work closely with the business line and IT colleagues to progress the CDSClear project agenda Out of hours on-call rota support The Site Reliability Engineer will be a member of rota for late shift work until 10 pm London Time. Subject to changes as the global support model evolves. Active management of all CDSClear environments ensuring daily availability and performance indicators are met Part of the team which owns and is responsible for driving and securing the front-to-back day to day support of all CDSClear aligned applications & infrastructure. Team responsibilities include change, capacity and IT risk management. All team members take part in these activities. Coordination and execution of steps to handle events including liaising with colleagues in other teams. Ownership of standard team procedures before, during and after the daily clearing session to meet the service levels required by LCH Members and Clients. Monitor CDSClear IT Support team activity and ensure correct workload dispatch through the team (BAU, project, shift, on-call and business event) to match operating objectives. Management and coordination of the Disaster Recovery tests and Business Continuity standards compliance Incident management and coordination across all required teams to achieve incident closure and remediation Drive a continuous improvement programme to reinforce production stability and improve operational efficiency. Attend IT Change governance forums to drive prioritisation of enhancements with a well-defined requirements. Collaborate with IT Development teams to improve release automation, using LSEG approved DevOps toolset Hands on with technology used by the team to support CDSClear IT estate: Mainly AWS, Unix, SQL BMC Control-M, Web Services, IBM MQ and Network Knowledge Ensure IT Support team face off to Information Security teams and that appropriate teams are taking actions to address identified vulnerabilities in applications or infrastructure Skills required: Infrastructure and networking experience relevant for supporting public cloud infrastructure on AWS. Possess the ability to investigate issues on AWS infrastructure and drive them to resolution. Track record of exposure to front-to-back IT delivery (from technical analysis to testing through development) in a large, multi-platform, cross-border financial institution. Demonstrable experience in front-to-back OTC trade management or OTC risk application environment. Awareness of OTC derivative trade life cycle and typical issues which will affect batch and intraday trade processing and risk systems. Experience of supporting in-house maintained IT applications running on a Unix server environment with Oracle databases, IBM MQ. Track record of either hands-on problem solving in this type of environment or leading teams to have solved problems. Familiarity with Incident Management, Problem Management and Change Management processes and toolsets. Ability to manage effectively conflicting stake-holder priorities and agendas Desire to automate manual tasks to improve efficiency. Well verse ITIL standards and process. Strong production support experiences. Able to lead and organise teams but also able to recognise when to delegate and raise to other teams such as cross functional support teams and the IT Development team. Understanding of monitoring concepts and ability to configure enterprise monitoring tools (preferred: Datadog) Preferred skills Familiarity with supporting Java applications Unix Scripting, SQL, Control-M, Datadog monitoring, PowerBI and Automation tooling Good problem solving and communication skill Credit derivative knowledge relevant to trade life cycle and risk management.
