About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join our client, a thriving Academy in Southend-on-Sea. The successful candidate will provide essential support to students with additional learning needs, helping them to overcome barriers to learning and reach their full potential. This role is perfect for someone passionate about education and eager to make a real difference in students’ lives.
Key Responsibilities
* Support students in the classroom, ensuring they have access to the curriculum.
* Work closely with teachers to deliver tailored support for pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and additional learning needs.
* Provide one-to-one and small group interventions to support academic and social development.
* Assist with behaviour management and promote positive learning attitudes.
* Help create an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
* Encourage and develop students’ confidence, independence, and engagement in learning.
* Monitor and record pupil progress, providing feedback to teaching staff.
* Support students with personal care needs where necessary.

* Experience working with children, preferably in a school setting.

* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
* Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
* A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children (successful applicants will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check).
