Oldham College invites you to join our dynamic Retail and Commercial department as a Programme Tutor – Hairdressing and Barbering.
Role Overview:
As a Programme Tutor, you will contribute to delivering excellence in teaching, learning, and assessment. You’ll inspire learners, help them achieve their goals, and prepare them for success in the vibrant barbering and hairdressing industry.
Key Responsibilities:
* Plan, deliver, and assess engaging and innovative lessons tailored to a diverse range of learners.
* Set achievable yet challenging targets to support learners in reaching their full potential.
* Design and implement flexible programmes, including work preparation skills, that meet the needs of employers and the community.
* Stay up-to-date with curriculum and industry demands, ensuring teaching materials and assessments remain relevant and impactful.
* Utilise digital tools, such as the College’s Virtual Learning Environment (VLE), to enhance learning experiences and provide flexible access to resources.
* Monitor learner progress, providing timely feedback and support to ensure successful outcomes.
* Promote safeguarding, equality, and diversity, ensuring a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
Qualifications and Skills:
* Level 3 or equivalent industry qualifications in barbering and/or hairdressing.
* Recognised teaching qualification (or a commitment to obtain one).
* Assessor's Award (or willingness to train and achieve within six months).
* Demonstrated experience in delivering high-quality learning experiences, including innovative teaching methods and effective use of digital tools.
* Strong record of managing learner data, achieving performance targets, and inspiring students through industry-relevant content.
