Our school is looking for a 1:1/small group Interventions teaching assistant to help support pupils with ALN (Additional Learning Needs) and behavioural issues within the mainstream classroom. In this role, you will need to be a resilient and supportive individual, who can help provide essential care and support to help your pupil grow and develop. The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher and other teaching assistants to effectively assist this pupil and contribute to the overall positive learning environment. Responsibilities of the Interventions Teaching Assistant: Work on a 1:1/small group basis with pupils in the mainstream classroom who have ALN. Support and develop the pupil’s literacy and numeracy techniques. Foster a positive and encouraging environment, actively supporting the growth and development of your pupil. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with students, parents, and staff. Adhere to the school's safeguarding and protection policies. Work effectively with fellow teachers and teaching assistants in a strong team-oriented approach, seeking advice and guidance when required. Adapt to various situations as they arise, demonstrating flexibility in response to evolving needs. Key Requirements for a Successful Teaching Assistant: To be registered with the EWC (Education Workforce Council) Hold a Child only DBS certificate that is registered on the Update System. Provide 2 professional references covering 24 months. Patient, proactive, and empathetic approach to supporting students. Ability to manage challenging behaviour and know when to seek support.
