About us
Kite Ridge School is a Specialist Secondary PRU for young people with Specific Learning Difficulties and a range of behavioural challenges. We have a maximum of 10 students on role at any one time. Our school operates under a therapeutic culture of Unconditional Positive Regard and positive behaviour support. We are a small community, united in our shared values and purpose.
The Lead Practitioner will play a significant role in the school as part of the Senior Leadership Team to support and oversee the development of the sensory curriculum and behavioural therapy across the setting. The successful applicant will work under the supervision of the Head Teacher, and closely with the Deputy Head Teacher, to ensure all students access a holistic curriculum. They will also take on the roles, following training, of Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead and Advanced Team Teach Tutor.
About you
You will have experience of implementing practice within a framework of Positive Behaviour Support and wider therapeutic disciplines for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and/or an autistic spectrum disorder. You will also have line management experience, delivering supervision, appraisal and performance management.
