Behaviour Support Assistant - Nuneaton
Daily Rate: £98 - £115

As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you will be working closely with a pupil who requires additional support to engage effectively in school life. This role involves providing 1:1 support to help pupils develop key social, emotional, and behavioural skills while ensuring their inclusion in classroom activities. You will play a crucial role in helping the pupil overcome behavioural challenges such as reluctance to participate, swearing, shouting, absconding from class, and occasional hitting.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide consistent, tailored support to the pupil, fostering a positive and nurturing learning environment.
* Work closely with the class teacher to implement strategies and interventions that reduce challenging behaviours and promote engagement.
* Support the pupil in developing self-regulation and communication skills to help them interact more positively with peers and teachers.
* Build a strong, trusting relationship with the pupil, encouraging their confidence and motivation to succeed.
* Collaborate with other staff members to ensure the pupil's needs are met and their progress is tracked effectively.
* Implement behaviour management techniques that promote positive reinforcement and inclusion, ensuring the pupil feels valued and supported.
Requirements:
* Experience working with children, particularly in managing challenging behaviours, in an educational or similar setting.
* A strong, firm but fair approach to behaviour management, with the ability to stay calm and composed in challenging situations.
* Resilience, patience, and a proactive mindset, with the ability to stay focused on solutions and improvements.
* Must have an Enhanced DBS on the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
