About the role
You will be part of a dynamic growing team of officers in the Tree and Nature Conservation Service. Your role will help us manage and maintain Haringey’s trees by providing professional advice and support on all tree-related matters in accordance with Council strategies, current legislation, industry best practice, and published guidance. You will assist with the coordination of all matters relating to the procurement and monitoring of tree maintenance in the borough, maintaining close working relationships with a range of stakeholders including other council services such as Highways, Parks, Haringey Homes, as well as residents, contractors, and councillors.
About the team
The Tree and Nature Conservation Service is responsible for the management of trees on Council land, including its parks and woodlands, our tree planting programme, and all the allotments in the borough. The team currently consists of 3 Arboricultural Officers, a Nature Conservation Officer, an Urban Forest Project Officer, an Allotment Officer, and a Technical Support Officer.
About you
We are looking for a candidate with 3 years’ experience working in the Arboricultural Industry and at least 2 years’ experience as a Local Authority Arboricultural Officer. You should have a good working knowledge of existing legislation, industry best practices, and tree work operations. Knowledge of basic tree biology, pests, diseases, and disorders that affect trees is essential. You must be able to undertake tree surveys/inspections, preferably using Confirm Arboriculture, and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
