Policy, Service, Research & Development ResponsibilityMeet the demands of the department's workload whilst consistently achieving high quality standards which will be measured by in-process checks and non-conformance reports.To use manual dexterity and concentration for the disassembly and reassembly of the reusable medical devices in accordance with manufacturer's instructions.To operate decontamination equipment and carry out routine tests in accordance with the Planned Preventative Maintenance Schedule, Quality Standards and Guidance.To undertake duties as required, consistent with the responsibility of the grade and needs of the service.To refer appropriate issues and raise uncertainties with senior staff.To attend all statutory and mandatory training and Induction as defined by the organisation and service needs and other courses considered appropriate. Responsibility for Finance, Equipment & Other ResourcesResponsible for the cleaning, decontamination and handling of expensive delicate endoscopic equipment where dismantling/re-assembly and processing must be carried out with extreme care.Care and maintenance of complex decontamination processing machines.To operate complex washer/drier decontamination machines after training.To carry out and document tests of machinery in use on a daily basis.To ensure equipment is loaded correctly into automated washer disinfectors and items have been scanned onto the departments instrument tracking system (TDOC).To be able to use IT systems. Responsibility for Supervision, Leadership & ManagementTo ensure personal protective equipment is worn in all areas as specified in the departmental operational manual.To carry out and document tests of machinery in use on a daily basis.To adhere to the requirements of working with a controlled environment.
