The Role
As Head of Finance and Resources, you will be a key member of the Senior Management Team, responsible for financial strategy, reporting, governance, and operational resources. You will work closely with the Director and other senior leaders to ensure Dovecot's long-term financial sustainability while overseeing facilities, HR, and IT systems.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Financial Planning & Strategy: Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance reporting.
2. Bookkeeping & Financial Reporting: Manage accounts, audits, VAT returns, payroll, and tax compliance.
3. Governance & Compliance: Act as Company Secretary, ensuring legal and regulatory obligations are met.
4. Facilities & Resources Management: Oversee property leases, IT services, and health & safety policies.
5. HR & Organisational Development: Support personnel processes, performance management, and business strategy.
Who We're Looking For:
1. Qualified Accountant (CCAB or equivalent QBE) with 5+ years' experience in finance & administration.
2. Strong knowledge of charity accounting (SORP), VAT regulations, and governance requirements.
3. Experience managing tight budgets and preparing financial reports for senior leadership.
4. Excellent communication skills, able to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
5. Proficiency in SAGE, Microsoft Excel, and financial reporting tools.
