Our client is a food manufacturer who produces a wide range of Artisan baked products and is currently looking to recruit a Baker to join their team on a permanent basis.
As a Baker, you will be preparing and baking goods, such as bread, cakes, and cookies within a manufacturing operation.
On a day-to-day basis you will:
1. Prepare ingredients: Measure, weigh, and combine ingredients using mixers and blenders
2. Prepare dough: Knead, roll, cut, and shape dough
3. Prepare baking sheets: Fill pans, molds, or baking sheets with dough
4. Bake: Set the oven temperature and place the baked goods in the oven
5. Decorate: Use icing, glazes, fillings, and decorations to enhance the presentation of the baked goods
6. Test: Test the ingredients and finished goods to ensure quality and food safety
7. Display: Display the baked goods
8. Maintain cleanliness: Keep the work environment clean and organized
9. Process orders: Process customer orders efficiently and carefully
10. Greet customers: Greet customers and answer their questions
Ideal candidates will have previous bakery experience, particularly with bread products; however, we would also consider anyone who has worked within a Food Manufacturing environment and would like to learn to be a baker. Food Hygiene and HACCP knowledge are essential for this permanent role, along with the ability to work as part of a small team.
