Royce is seeking a Student Engagement Manager to deliver the Institute’s strategic plan for training, skills, and engagement with university students in material sciences and on in their future careers. The role aims to connect with and empower undergraduate and postgraduate students across the UK materials community. Activities will include managing Royce’s undergraduate summer internship programme but will focus on postgraduate students: organising the bi-annual PhD student conference, running a PhD research sandpit, and developing other engagement opportunities with Royce Partners and other stakeholders across the country. You will be a proactive, organised, and motivated individual, with previous experience in the physical sciences within academia or industry. You will be adept at conversing with students, supporting them in gaining new skills, and sharing experiences as part of their ongoing career development. A background in material science, the physical sciences, engineering or related discipline is highly desirable; as is knowledge of equality, diversity and inclusion, including within widening participation and in relation to training, skills and career development.
