ProSkillz Recruitment Ltd are looking for an experienced Registered Manager to support the Responsible Individual on their journey to open a new Childrens residential home for a solo EBD placement in Wednesbury, West Midlands This role will suit an experienced Registered Manager looking for a change or an experienced Deputy Manager who is ready for a new challenge to step up and take on full management responsibilities. We need a Registered Manager who truly does put children first, and role models this with the rest of the team. We expect the child in your care to feel valued and cared for, safe and loved, and to be given opportunities to achieve their potential whilst their individual needs remain at the core of everything you do. As this will be a new home the Registered manager will join the team before the service is up and running and will therefore have a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping the provision along with the Responsible Individual. The Registered Manager will be supported by the Responsible Individual in registering the home with Ofsted, recruiting and training the staff team, and creating a successful service where children and young people as well as the staff team enjoy positive outcomes. Responsibilities: Prior to registration the Registered Manager will be required to: - Work with the Responsible Individual to complete Ofsted registration paperwork ie the homes Statement of Purpose, Children's Guide, Location Risk Assessment and Homes development Plan along with any other additional paperwork required to register the home with Ofsted. - Support the Responsible Individual to recruit a staff team for the home - including sourcing staff, interviewing candidates, completing schedule 2 safer recruitment checks and completing staff inductions. Once the home is registered with Ofsted the Registered Manager will be required to: The Registered Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the home and the oversight of the staff team, as well as being accountable for the regulatory performance of the home as the Ofsted Registered Manager. - Creating a nurturing and homely environment to the young people and ensuring each child/Young person has a key worker assigned to them. - Ensure the smooth day to day management and running of the home in line with the Children's Homes Regulations 2015 and the Quality Standards for Children's Homes. - Ensure key stages in the stay of the children or young people such as admission and discharge are properly managed, and reflect decisions recorded in care plans - Ensuring that care is provided for each young person in line with their care plan, risk assessment, agreed objectives, standards, policies and procedures and that their voice is heard and reflected in these plans. - Putting in place efficient procedures to ensure the home is Ofsted compliant and all records are kept up to date and securely. - To be involved in the selection, recruitment, and retention of staff - To support and inspire the staff team by being available and promoting reflective practice and regular supervision to ensure positive outcomes for children and Young people. - Communicating and building relationships with key stakeholders such as; social care, health practitioners, educational provisions, parents/families amongst others. - Use your organisational skills to provide safe levels of staffing whilst being aware of dynamics with the children and within the staff team. - Ensure that effective finance budgets comply with expectations and procedures. - Monitoring the progress and outcomes of the home and children and young people placed. Requirements: This post requires dedication, flexibility and commitment. The Registered Manager must demonstrate excellent management skills and must have a proven track record of working with children/young people in a residential setting as well as: - Minimum Diploma Level 5 Leadership and Management of Residential Childcare or currently working towards this qualification - Minimum 2 years experience of supervising and managing staff in a childrens home setting. - Excellent knowledge of relevant legislation & regulations. - strong communication skills both with children, young people and adults. - Full driving licence with access to a vehicle. - You must have or be willing to have, an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.
