We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Repairs and Maintenance Manager to join our dynamic team. You will be responsible for supporting the management of our repairs and maintenance operations, ensuring high-quality service delivery to our tenants and meeting compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Assist in managing the day-to-day operations of repairs and maintenance services within social housing properties.
2. Oversee electrical maintenance and repairs, ensuring work is completed to the highest standards and within regulatory guidelines.
3. Ensure compliance with relevant health and safety regulations, particularly the 18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations (BS7671).
4. Manage a team of operatives, providing guidance, support, and training as necessary.
5. Coordinate inspections, testing, and certification of electrical installations.
6. Liaise with tenants, contractors, and suppliers to ensure the timely completion of repairs and maintenance tasks.
7. Conduct regular audits of properties to identify any repair or maintenance issues.
8. Maintain accurate records and reports on maintenance work and compliance.
Essential Requirements:
1. 18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations BS7671 certification.
2. NVQ Level 3 qualification in an electrical discipline.
3. AM2 Practical Trade Test qualification.
4. City & Guilds 2391 (Inspection, Testing, and Certification of Electrical Installations) or equivalent.
5. Strong knowledge and experience in repairs and maintenance within the social housing sector.
6. Excellent communication and management skills, with the ability to lead and motivate a team.
7. Full UK driving licence.
Desirable:
1. Experience with housing management systems and reporting tools.
2. Strong understanding of current housing and electrical regulations.
3. Proven ability to manage budgets and projects effectively.
