JOB DESCRIPTION Job Title: Production Planner Reporting to: Production Manager Purpose/scope of the job: Responsible for Planning, scheduling and coordinating production of herbs, chillies and fresh produce. This role is crucial to maintaining our high standards of quality and ensuring customer satisfaction. Main Duties Develop and maintain detailed production schedules, prioritising workload based on customer requirements, production capacity, and optimizing efficiency. Collaborate with all other departments and the Production Manager to ensure schedules align with customer expectations, lead times and stock holding levels. Maintain and develop existing tools for production scheduling. Monitor daily production activities, analyse production data, and identify areas for improvement. Adjust production schedules to accommodate unforeseen events such as equipment breakdowns, material shortages, or changing customer demands. Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying methods to enhance the service provided. Analyse any production issues and implement corrective actions. Continuously improve operations, safety, and to minimise waste of water, materials and energy. Ensure all production activities comply with health and safety regulations, environmental, food safety and quality objectives and targets. Ensuring you adhere to the procedures in the quality manuals as facility to the BRC, M&S and other industry standards. To operate within and support the company’s Quality and Food Safety Policy ensuring that all operations are carried out in accordance with specified procedures and working practices and to report any problems identified to the Production Manager. Provide support and guidance to the production staff as needed. Experience, skills, and attributes required for the Production Planner: Previous experience in production planning preferably within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Thorough knowledge of production planning principles, lean manufacturing, and capacity planning. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions. Experience with production planning software, Excel, and ERP systems. Customer Focus Teamwork The salary for this position is between £32k to £35K depending on experience. You will receive 30 days' holiday (including 8 bank holidays). The standard hours are an 8 hour day from Monday to Friday.
