Our thriving primary school in Hillingdon is seeking a dedicated Deputy SENCO to support the management and development of our Special Educational Needs provision. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in supporting students with diverse needs and ensuring they receive the best possible education. About the Role As Deputy SENCO, you will work closely with the SENCO and teaching staff to provide tailored support for students with Special Educational Needs. You will assist in the development and delivery of Individual Education Plans (IEPs), track student progress, and ensure that inclusive practices are embedded across the school. This role provides an opportunity for professional growth and development within a supportive and collaborative team. Key Responsibilities Support the SENCO in managing the school’s SEND provision and ensure all students with additional needs are well-supported. Assist in the creation, implementation, and review of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students with SEND. Monitor and track the progress of students with SEND, ensuring timely interventions and support. Work closely with class teachers to ensure inclusive teaching practices are implemented and students’ needs are met in the classroom. Provide advice and training to staff on best practices for supporting students with SEND. Build strong relationships with parents, carers, and external agencies to ensure a holistic approach to supporting students. Oversee and support teaching assistants and other support staff in their roles. What We’re Looking For We’d love to hear from you if you are: A qualified teacher with experience in Special Educational Needs, and ideally hold or are working towards the National Award for SEN Coordination. Passionate about inclusive education and committed to supporting students with diverse learning needs. A strong communicator and team player, able to collaborate effectively with staff, parents, and external professionals. Organized, proactive, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a busy school environment. Experienced in working with primary-aged children and familiar with the challenges they face.
