Disability Learning Support Northfield, Birmingham Full Time 8:30am-3:30pm Start Date : January 2025 Monarch Education are currently working in partnership with a Specialist Educational Needs (SEND) school in Northfield who are seeking a bubbly learning support assistant with experience in disabilities. The Role You would be working in a community special school for students aged 2 to 19 years, who have cognition and learning difficulties, in addition to physical disabilities and/or complex health care needs. The actual role itself, would involve guiding special needs children through their educational journey, with the use of sensory play, assisted learning and music therapy. Requirements to apply: SEND experience You must be willing to obtain a child and adult DBS through Monarch if you do not already have one The following skills would be advantageous: Previous experience in a school or education-based setting. Knowledge of a range of disabilities and their educational needs. Training in hoisting, manual, PEG feeding etc handling is advantageous. Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with students, teachers, and parents. A light-hearted and bubbly personality to contribute to a positive learning environment. Empathetic approach to working with children, promoting their emotional and educational growth.
