We are seeking an experienced Band 6 Midwife, who is committed to providing quality care to pregnant women and their families, to join our dedicated healthcare team as part of our Antenatal Clinic. As an antenatal clinic midwife, you will play a crucial role in providing comprehensive care to expectant mothers during the antenatal period. The role incorporates varied multi-disciplinary work including working with doctors in the consultant clinics and ensuring women’s antenatal care is well-co-ordinated between community midwifery teams, GPs, obstetrics, inpatient maternity department, and other services.
You will work as part of our friendly team, providing care to women in the West Suffolk area and beyond. You will have previous experience delivering antenatal care and be a dynamic midwife keen to be part of this busy department and partake in service improvement and implement changes, helping to ensure that we provide an effective and efficient service. You will be provided with an induction programme and full training to fulfil the role requirements.
Main duties of the job
1. To maintain close working relationships with the antenatal clinic senior midwife to ensure work is prioritised and delivered appropriately.

3. Autonomous practitioner for women and their families within the maternity services, able to provide expert knowledge of multidisciplinary antenatal care. Be conversant with all aspects of high-risk pregnancies, ensuring women are seen in appropriate time frame.
4. Coordination of care pathways for women with pregnancies with medical, obstetric, or fetal complications, including where required, referral to specialist tertiary units and coordination of follow up care.
5. Conduct thorough assessments and examinations of pregnant women during antenatal visits.
6. As a midwife in the consultant antenatal clinic, act as an advocate for women, ensuring that they are fully informed and involved in making decisions about their care. Support the Obstetric & Medical Teams to ensure the best outcomes for women.
